Who are we?
This is an information site specifically dedicated to hereditary breast cancer and hereditary ovarian cancer.
BRCA is an abbreviation for Breast Cancer and stands for the 2 breast breast and ovarian cancer genes BRCA-1 and BRCA -2. The website has been put together and is kept up to date by the Hereditary working group of the BorstkankerVereniging Nederland (BVN) – the breast cancer association in the Netherlands.
Our Aims:
To provide information: To raise awareness about the problems associated with hereditary breast cancer and ovarian cancer.
To provide a support network: To offer help, advice and support to all members (including partners) of families who have a history of breast or ovarian cancer within the family.
To look after our interests: To promote the special interest of our target group – for example the social consequences of being a gene carrier.
This website is regularly updated with new information.
